Update #65 – Arizona – Dec. 10/14

Can’t believe it’s been almost a month since I got to Arizona. Sunny and warm with blue skies in the 27 out of the last 28 days during my stay.

This must be my 6th time in Arizona since 2009. I remember falling in love with the weather and blue sky the first time I was here to look at the University with Kel in fall of that year. I liked it so much that I ended up buying a loft in Scottsdale and called it my winter home. Unfortunately, I only got to stay there for 10 nights within the 3 years of owning it due to my busy schedules. And so, I decided to sell it and bought this house as a rental property instead. I had a great tenant up till 2 months ago when she moved out. Then spontaneously I decided to keep this and make it my winter home instead due to having SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) in Vancouver. But this time around, I am in a much different place and totally ready to settle down here. Indeed, I have been enjoying it here very much.

I spent most of this month dealing with remodeling the house because I want to be more comfortable living here since I will be here a few months a year. I started zumba class and discovered true hot yoga with which I loved! I’ve found a few new friends who are very friendly and helpful. I have even started hiking on the dessert which was really cool. Special thanks to my hiking buddy, Andreas for showing me different trials. He’s been an amazing new friend in this city!

Scottsdale is quite an amazing city with lots of good restaurants (a taxi driver told me it’s hard to find a bad restaurant in Scottsdale because among the 1200 they got, 1100 are great), lots of good looking people and nice cars (saw 8 Ferrari and 6 Bentley within a week along Scottsdale Road)! I often wonder if the reason for the positive energy I am sensing from the people has something to do with the amount of sun they are getting. I mean if I get depressed from the gloomy Vancouver winter due to lack of sun, then it’s the opposite here therefore it seems logical for people to be extra happy since they got so much sun??? lol

I am going back to Vancouver now to pick up Deon for our upcoming family Christmas cruise now. Then, I will be visiting our cousins in Philadelphia after the cruise. Will be back here on Jan. 10/15 to a newly renovated home. 🙂
