This trip has been a very stressful trip because of delays and issues related to MC#1. I needed to deal with them first – those issues weeks before the event, leading up to and including during the tournament. So much stress, yet so many lessons learned.
I guest the highlight of this trip was my speech during the opening breakfast. I had been going to Toastmasters for 7 months to overcome my fear of public speaking to do this speech and I did it! I felt relieved and proud that I wasn’t shaking at all in front of hundreds of people. The time I invested in TM definitely didn’t go to waste.
When MC was over, I went with Uncle Andy and mom to visit relatives in Sacramento and SF. I felt it was important to know who our cousins are and to stay in touch with them. I asked Uncle Andy to take me to China to meet the rest of our cousins, hopefully, in 2015.
After 42 days of being away from home, a part of me is happy to go home to see my children but another part of me is really not looking forward to seeing the gloomy Vancouver winter.
But home will always be Vancouver to me so it’s nice to go home…
