I believed that $$ equals “FREEDOM.” I still do.
– freedom to make choices
– freedom to get out of a unhappy marriage
– freedom to pick which kind of the education for my kids
– freedom to a lifestyle I prefer
– freedom to help those I care
– freedom to pick options beyond the cheapest option
– freedom to work or retire
– freedom to GIVE rather than receive
I just can’t imagine being poor again even if it means I will grow old alone….
After all these years of “personal growth,” of course, I have acknowledged that money can’t buy “growth.” But then that’s only the thing that $$ can’t buy on top of health. How about those times when the beauty of money kicks in?? I think that at the end of the day, being “aware” of all angles, knowing what you “value” most and having “balanced” thoughts are what really matter!!
I shared this with Lisa and she added the following:
- Money can buy a bed, but it cannot buy sleep.
- Money can buy books, but it cannot by brains.
- Money can buy food, but not appetite.
- Money can buy finery, but not beauty.
- Money can buy a house, but not a home.
- Money can buy medicine, but not health.
- Money can buy luxuries, but not culture.
- Money can buy amusement, but not happiness.
- Money can buy companions, but not friends.
- Money can buy flattery, but not respect.
