February 18/12 – We spent a total of 7 days in Bangkok. Not much different from my last visit 2 years ago. Still crazy traffic jam. Thai street food still great. Shopping still exciting, Merchandise still inexpensive. Thai cultural still friendly.
The main purpose of my trip here was to visit an old friend of mine. Glad to see he’s settled in and happy living here.
Pattaya – We were here for 6 days total. It has been very relaxing. Even though the beach was stony and unclean, the Infinity Pool at the place where we stayed was amazing. Plus eating, drinking and massages were all great. We really enjoyed our vacation here with Marco visiting from Vancouver.
I had always fantasized and loved the idea of being a “pool bum” but the last 2 days in Pattaya was actually my first time of being one and I really enjoyed it. And I will surely relish it. We hanged out at the infinity pool from after breakfast till dinner, talking about 8 hrs. And time flew by just like that; drinking, talking, swimming, and playing cards. I mean, it was not the first time I hanged out at the pool but this was the first time I felt this FREE and RELAXED to qualify as a “pool bum,” in my dictionary.
It was storming for a short period of time earlier today. Everyone left but we stayed and it was the best time I had under the heavy rain. It really felt amazing. Then I came to recognize it’s all about me and my state of mind at that moment…. I felt JOY for the 2nd time since 2 years ago. I felt peaceful inside. And it all felt so solid…. 🙂
Going to HK today and then heading to New Delhi, India for volunteer teaching again on March 10/12.
