Dear Family and Friends:
So our Year Two 8-month journey starts today. We will start with a “backpacking with a budget trip” (to make it more challenging) to 6 South American countries, then to Asia in January 2013. I plan to seclude myself from the Internet as much as possible so that I can focus on my journey more. Therefore, please don’t be surprised if it will take me a few days to reply or respond.
Saying good-bye to family and friends in Vancouver turned out harder this year than last year. I wonder if it has anything to do with me now having an open mind set to consider uprooting myself from Vancouver and settling in some other places and/or be with a “Mr. Elope-able” who I may have already encountered before or will yet to encounter….. hahaha
I’ve been having mixed feelings ever since a week ago about taking off. I am excited to be exploring something brand new with Deon and to further bond with him but I am also feeling very sad to say good bye to family and friends here….
I have been shedding some tears every day since my farewell dinners and lunches started a week ago. I know Deon has been feeling the same sadness over the last week too. I asked him if we should consider giving up our trip but we both decided the higher value is to go as per plan. The “memories” and “life experiences” we will gain will be very immeasurable therefore, after re-evaluating whether to leave or cancel, we both decided to go as per plan….
