I have always been a grateful person. I like to give tribute whenever and wherever needed. I value past memories and therefore when I first heard of the idea of a “gratitude jar” in December 2012, I was inspired to start my own. I plan to keep on adding more to this blog as the day goes on.
- May 20/14 – For my MC partner, our MC volunteers and all the MC defenders
- March 2014 – Grateful to Toastmasters – a club to help me overcome my fear of public speaking.
-
Feb. 26/14 – Grateful to have completed my website within 7 weeks and go live.
-

-
Aug. 31/13 – Deon and I officially completed our 2 year journey. What a priceless experience!
-
Aug. 26/13 – Decided on doing the MC project with Maurice. It is my first “back to work” project after being on sabbatical for 4+ years.
-
Jan. 1/13 – Deon and I finished our South America Trip and made it home safe for X’mas and NY
I am grateful….
– for having Maurice as my business partner in bringing chess mainstream. I have never met anyone with more integrity than he has.
– for that wonder article on NY times that set the wildfire among the media.
– for having the luxury to choose which projects can potentially leave a legacy behind when I have finally breathed my last.
– for having Kam as my BFF. He can complete my sentences for me because he knows me more than I know me.
– for having my 2 dear girlfriends, Pandora and Alex, who can easily act as my spokespersons.
– for still having Erica in my life. We been friends for 30 years now. I hope our boys will become greats friends like their moms were.
– for having the best uncle in the world. Uncle Andy was the only father role I have ever had since we lost my dad to cancer when I was only 12 years old. He was the one who has been drumming into me since I was 13 years old that it is important to have a goal in life and to stay focus on that goal until you have reached it. The result: my being goal-oriented and having tunnel vision. And oh, I can still hear his voice repeating this admonition.
– for having the internet even though I am not really tech savvy; it makes me connected with the world.
– for always feeling free to stand tall and proud of who I am and what I have achieved so far.
