Aug. 3/13 – If I remember correctly, the last time our whole family was together was Christmas 2010. The 6-hour drive to Salmon Arm to board the Houseboat was well worth it!
There were a total of 25 people on this $700K houseboat. Nineteen were members of our family and 6 were friends. We had a fantastic time with all the water sports on Shuswap Lake. Spending 4 days of quality time with family is both precious and priceless to me.
I am sure mom is happy to have put in the time and effort to prepare food for all of us but I still felt bad because is cooking for a lot of people. And I am grateful that Lisa and Dave were such amazing organizers (they spent 3 months in planning). Of course, everyone else had also contributed to make this trip so much fun!
I hope it won’t take another 2.5 years for the whole family to be together again. Perhaps a family trip in an all inclusive resort in Mexico or Dominion Republic or Cuba would be nice… 🙂
When all is said and done…. there is little that compares with being on a houseboat filled with people you love, knowing they love you for who you are in return… laughing, playing, eating and sharing stories. I really do live a blessed life with the most wonderful family and friends.
