Blokus game – bonding time

Jan. 28/08 – Anyone know how to play this game?

We went to the mall today because Kel needed to return the computer and De needed to get his gift from grandma for getting 100%  in his Chinese test so I convinced him to choose the “Blokus” game so we could all play when we got home.

I can not believe even De beat me. Obviously, Kel came in first, Jo 2nd then De.  then me :((( but we all had a great time!!  This is probably the first time the 4 of us played a game in years. :)).

Before the game started, I told De that if he had zero points (very hard) left, then I would give him 100 happy faces. His best 1 of 5 game was 20 points left.  While I was showering him, he said, “So when are you going to mark my 80 happy faces?”

Then I said, “Why do you get 80?”

“Remember you said that you will give me 100?  In my last game, I only had 20 points left;  that means you owe me 80 happy faces.”

Oh! and he sounded so sure of his computation, too!! I then explained in detail why it doesn’t work like that. He understood me right away and smiled shyly so really he was just testing my limit and see if he can get away with it.

This short story may not mean anything but it means a lot:  bonding with your family can never be replaced by anything.  Take advantage of each and every opportunity we can to bond with them because we don’t know what tomorrow brings.
